We have 4 classes for you to choose from if you're planning to ride. We have Recreational, Sport, Competitive, and Expert. See the descriptions below for clarification on what these classes mean.
Recerational: This is the class you would enter if you are a first-time rider, are a little nervous, or just simply don't wanna ride the longer races. Think of this category of riders who saw there was a bike event and wanted to check it out, but really aren't sure what to expect. This is a wonderful, welcoming and friendly group of riders where you can safely get your feet wet in the world of cycling.
Sport: This is everything above, but a little longer race and might include people who participated in Recreational the previous year and decided they wanted a little more. This is still the same group of like-minded people who are willing to help you if you're on the trail with a broken bike, or are lost. It's a great group of fun riders out for a good workout, and trying to improve their skills while doing a super fun event.
Competitive: The name says a fair bit about this class of riders, but let's be clear. Fat Fish's goal is to develop a community of riders, thus, even though this class of riders might be faster, more intense, and a little more skilled, they'll still stop to help you and it's expected that you return the favor and contribute to the fun of competition in a healthy and fun way.
Expert: If you are thinking of entering this race class you know this is a place to go fast, try hard, and have fun. Even though this is the hardest class to enter due to longer race courses and a more competitive field, you must know that Fat Fish's mission is woven into every category of racer and this group is no different. If you're lost, they'll help, if your bike is broken they'll be the first to check on you, if you've crashed they'll be the first to stop and get help. Fun is the goal for every race we host, and just because this category of races is fast, technical, and intense, we still work to keep fun at the forefront of the events. You can also do this category if you simply want a longer ride to maximize your workout for the evening. We have riders that aren't super fast who just wanna be on the bike longer than the other classes will allow so they enter this class for that reason.
