There are many ways you can help, involving all skill and ability levels, as well as varying time commitments. Email us, speak to a Team Member, or talk to a race host to get involved. View some of the activities to choose from below:
Post Race Clean up - Any skill level, Little Time
Gathering sponsor flags and placing them in Fat Fish trailer
Pick up trash
Fold up tables and chairs
Gather race/trail markers
Course Marshall - Any skill level, During a race (1-1.5 hrs)
Station yourself at an assigned location and help direct racers along the trail
Example, point Recreation riders down one path while directing Sport riders down another path
Race Crew - Knowledge of trails, 1-3 hrs
Help set up for a race, usually the day prior to the race
Put up flags and trail markers, includes walking or riding the course with supplies
Set up of table and chairs as needed
Install ground pins to hold sponsor flags
Team Member - Highest skill level, Highest time commitment
Attend monthly meetings
Host race events
Assist with gaining sponsors
Assist with race set up and clean up
Be assigned tasks such as: permitting, food reservation, award preparation, media maintenance, website upkeep, etc.
(Paid position) Timer - Moderate skill level, Moderate time commitment
Learn and maintain knowledge of the timing system
Assist with setup and take down of timing equipment
Control the timing system during the season races
Possible management of the timing system during non-Fat Fish events
Setup of race season registration prior to season start
