What is the Maze Craze? It is a hoot of a race that lasts just 20 minutes. It is a short loop that you will complete multiple times in the short time. It is meant to push your limits and keep your heart redlined at 110% until you nearly collapse as you cross the finish line. Well, that's how those nutty expert class riders see it! If you are not an expert class rider and don't feel like pedaling so hard you taste blood in your throat, then this fun short ride will have you grinning from ear to ear. Seriously! This is a fan favorite since the racers pass through the finish area multiple times. It is also really cool since we separate the categories so that nobody is riding on top of each other. It is fun to ride and super fun to watch. We hope to see you there!
The race will startat 6:30. Casper Mountain has some amazing single track on Natrona County owned land. We are so lucky to be able to ride on these great trails that so many locals started building thirty plus years ago! Today, the county and the Central Wyoming Trails Alliance work together to build and maintain these fun trails. Please pick up your trash, don't cut corners and never build trail that is not first approved by the county.
Comfort tip: Bring a lawn chair because after your race you will want to chill out and watch the next race happen.
Fun Tip: Don't be afraid to go for a walk! Some of the best spectator spots are not near the pit zone. If you walk up or down the course to a cool technical spot, cheer on your buddies and take some sweet pictures.
Recovery Tip: You can enjoy some free food, water and gatorade provided by our amazing sponsors!
Race Tip: Get a good starting position because this race is short and fast! It will be very hard, but once it's over you may have wished you did more. Leif says, "dump the tank". Which means give everything you have and leave nothing on the table.
Kids Race: We will have a kids race that starts at 6:10 and will involve a few laps around the stadium row area. This is always a kids favorite especially since all the adults are right there in the stadium to cheer them on.
Please take time to thank our sponsors! If it wasn’t for them, you all would be winning stuff that we just find laying around our houses. Who wants to win a three identical paintings of pumpkins that my kids made at artisan alley anyway?
*There is absolutely NO parking on the road. There typically has always been enough parking in the Nordic Lodge parking lot and Skunk Hollow parking lot. If those are full, drive past to Bear Trap and ride to the start.
